If you are carrying a weapon, the last thing you want is to draw attention to yourself. This is true if you’re open carrying, but it’s especially true when you’re carrying a concealed weapon. Now how you dress is entirely up to you, but our opinion is that it’s hard to go wrong with a pair of jeans and maybe a button up shirt or sweatshirt. Printing is a thing, so consider how much what you’re wearing truly conceals the firearm you have on you.
Chances are that there are some things in your closet that will work better than others, and if your goal is to carry a weapon every day then you can use the items that do work to help you find others that work. Should you get rid of the clothing that doesn’t work? Certainly not, but knowing what works best for carrying a weapon and what doesn’t work at all is incredibly important.
Another important thing to keep in mind is that carrying a firearm can feel a little unnatural. Even the best holsters out there can feel awkward or uncomfortable at first.
The best thing you can do is to get comfortable wearing your holster. Wear it at home when you’re sitting on the couch and watching television. Wear it when you’re doing chores around the house. Wear it while you’re sitting at your desk and checking email. The point is that the more you can wear your holster in normal situations, the more it will feel like second nature to wear it.
We’d wager that the vast majority of people out there have no desire to actually ever have to draw their weapons, but that doesn’t mean that it couldn't happen. That means that one of the absolute best things you can do is to practice your draw.
Our advice is to do it often, until the movement becomes like second nature. After all, if you do ever get into a situation where you have to draw your weapon — which we genuinely hope that you don’t — you’ll want your muscle memory to take over, making the process smooth and flawless.
